Certified Digital Forensic for First Responder (CDFFR) is a 4-days hands-on training and certification programme that intended for officers who identify and seize digital evidence at crime scene. This course will teach in-depth, with hands-on practices in class, on the methods of seizing and acquiring digital evidence.

Started working in Digital Forensics Department of CyberSecurity Malaysia in 2007 as analyst. Promoted to Senior Analyst in 2010 and now hold position as Quality Manager for the department. Among responsibilities are to monitor the quality aspect of the digital evidence and the result as well as the competence of the analysts in accordance to ASCLD/LAB-International requirements. To date have reviewed more than 500 forensic reports produced by the laboratory for the Law Enforcement Agencies as well as for the private companies. Experiences include examination and analysis of digital forensics evidence; provide expert testimonies and present forensic findings and reports to law enforcement agencies.

Serve as a Digital Forensics Analyst at Digital Forensics Department of CyberSecurity Malaysia. Main tasks include analyzing digital evidence, preserving digital evidence at crime scene and trainer for digital forensics courses. Familiar with ASCLD/LAB-International (ISO standard for forensic lab) as laboratory is accredited with ASCLD/LAB-International.

Tajul Josalmin Tajul Ariffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science majoring Software Engineering. He is also certified as AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE) and ASCLD/LAB-International Assessor. He has been involved in digital forensics field for more than 10 years. His experience includes on Quality Management System, ISO/IEC 17025: 2005, Data Recovery and Digital Forensics investigation and analysis.

He is currently the Operations Manager in Digital Forensics Department (DFD) at CyberSecurity Malaysia. He is responsible for Digital Forensics Department daily operations, case assignment and case managements. He is also specialized in computer forensics and data recovery. To date, Mr. Tajul has handled more than 500 digital forensics cases. He is also the technical team leader for Data Recovery for disaster initiative in CyberSecurity Malaysia. Apart from that, he also assists various Malaysia’s Law Enforcement Agencies as a first responder for cases related to digital forensics. Mr. Tajul also has appeared as an expert witness for testifying in the Malaysia court of law when required. Occasionally, he is invited as a speaker at government organization and agencies; and also trainer for digital forensics course in CyberSecurity Malaysia.

The CDFFR examination is certified by the Global ACE Certification. The examination framework is designed to align with a set of relevant Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) that are necessary for an Information Security Awareness Manager. Candidates will be tested via a combination of either continual assessment (CA), multiple choice (MC), theory/underpinning knowledge assessment (UK), practical assessment (PA), assignments (AS) and case studies (CS) as required.

Candidates can take the examination at authorized examination centres in participating member countries. Candidates who have successfully passed the CDFFR examination will be eligible to apply as an associate or professional member by fulfilling the membership criteria defined under the Global ACE Certification.
